Wedding photographers in Metro Detroit

We are located in southeast Michigan, wedding photographers in Metro Detroit is our home territory, candids or photojounalism photojounalistic type of photography is why many brides continue to book us for their wedding events.

This first photo continues to be one of my all time favorite ceremony photos. Katie was just pronounced married, they sat down briefly for the first time as man and wife, and she has a grin going that tells the story, most likely the feeling that most every bride on earth feels.

I know that grandparents are really important to the bride and groom. I take special care to get lots of photos of them, and when possible, nothing beats a good candid of them.

Above, Katie & her fiance took dancing lessons for several months, all in preparation for their first dance together as husband and wife. Along about the time that the dinning area was about to open up, I lost track of the bride, and that almost never happens. I quickly found her tucked away in the reception area, with all the doors closed, only her and her new husband dancing (DJ in tow!). They were having a little last minute rehearsal dance. Was stunning to watch, both in practice, and while live. The above photos are from both dances. Makes you want to take dance lessons, almost!

Honestly, I don’t take many photos in elevators on the way down to the ceremony, but this father seen here, is just as happy as a man gets. Candids, can’t beat them…

Nothing beats this sort of candid, the bride joining in on the cigar ritual that so many grooms seem to partake in late in the evening. I’ve only seen a few do so, and it always gets the crowd going. Fun stuff.

Please surf the rest of my new site. I have wedding photos all over it. Head here for some more photos from Metro Detroit wedding photographer Kevin Campbell.

Formal wedding photographers in Metro Detroit are becoming a dying bread I think. However, coming from an era when formal photography was really the only game out there, I think we are still great at this dying art as well. I think the most important thing about formal photography is getting your subjects fixed in the correct position, a pleasing position to the camera angle & then to do this in the least amount of time possible. All brides are on a tight schedule, that is for sure, but I’ve learned that even when there is this tight schedule, the main reason to be quick about this part of the day is to keep her friends, family, and guests happy. Nothing is more boring & a buzz killer on the day then a slow photographer!

So, when you are booking wedding photographers in the Metro Detroit area this year, be sure to see that they not only do photojournalism, candids, and formals, but that they do them in a quick mannor.
